Following Biden’s 50th Day in Office, Undocumented Immigrants Demand “Permanent Protection for All 11 Million” within First 100 Days, Plan D.C. Mobilization for May 1

“We are halfway through the first 100 days of Biden’s presidency and undocumented immigrants have already been pushed aside by the administration,” said Gema Lowe, an organizer with Movimiento Cosecha. “Biden has excluded undocumented immigrants from his COVID relief bill. His party is already dividing our community by excluding and criminalizing our loved ones. Despite promising to stop deportations for his first three months in office, Biden has chosen to deport thousands of immigrants and continue separating our families.

As the immigrant community learned when Obama was president and Biden was vice president, we cannot just wait and hope that a Democratic president and congress will deliver for us. Promises and bill introductions mean nothing while thousands are deported and exploited in this country every day. That’s why, if Biden does not guarantee permanent protection for all undocumented immigrants by the end of his 100 days, we will be taking action on May 1 in D.C.”
